astralzoneblog.blogspot.com review by Dj Astro:
"Transnadežnost' is a cool, (almost) instrumental stoner/psych rock band from St. Petersburg, Russia. Somehow they have stayed outside my radar until I received this CD a couple of weeks ago and immediately fell in love with the band. The band is formed by Aleksandr Yershov – guitar, Alesya Izlesa – guitar, glockenspiel, Nikolay Vladimirovich – bass and David Aaronson – drums, percussion. There are also a couple of guests on Monomyth: vocals, lyrics on "Huldra" – Egor Svysokihgor and trumpets on "Star Child" & "Day/Night" – Aleksey Gorshkov. I really like the band's dreamy, progressive and spacey style that has some resemblance to bands like Monkey 3, Papir or Causa Sui, but they don't actually sound exactly like anyone else. The band has some previous digital only releases but, as far as I know, this is their first physical output.

There are seven tracks on the CD. The bluesy and dreamy "Pacha Mama" starts off the journey at first in a rather tranquil manner. There are also some more intense, progressive stuff in there to make things more interesting. Very cool! Also "Ladoga" has a peaceful beginning but after some hypnotic stuff it starts to rock out in a sort of trancey way. Things cool down again towards the end. The pretty long (9:30) "Kailash" has lots of different stuff in it from fast kraut/stoner rocking and groovy mystical heavy psych to weird, experimental and almost ambient jamming with percussion. Amazing! The bit shorter "Star Child" is an atmospheric track with trumpet to give it a sort of post rock vibe. The spacey and dreamy "Huldra" is one of my favorites and it's nice to have some vocals for a change. "Chewbacca" is the album's shortest track at 2:41 and very good and psychedelic as well. The album is finished with the beautiful and hypnotic "Day/Night" that is one of the highlights and also the longest track (12:15). The trumpet again gives some jazzy extra flavor to the trance-inducing vibes. Fans of bands like Maserati will enjoy this ride! In summary, Monomyth is an excellent, highly enjoyable album full of trippy, atmospheric and adventurous greatness and my only complaint is that this is not out on vinyl. You can buy the digipak CD from the band's Bandcamp site with free postage!"

Russian vk.com/psych_music premiere:

"The day is as long as the night. Persephone is coming down to Hades, to the realm of the dead. Quetzalcoatl, or «Feathery Snakes» is silently sliding down the facet of the pyramid. The night is as long as the day. The moment of the equilibrium is in moving, diffraction, and defection to the other side. Mother Earth and Father Sun are facing each other. The autumnal equinox. The nature is falling asleep in order to wake up again. And it is accompanied by the music - the hero's journey from Space to Earth and back."

disagreement.net review by Pascal Thiel:
"The album begins with Pacha Mama, a six-minute track that uses tension and momentum to transform itself from a sedate rumination to an explosive psyche rock outburst. This is how you do it! The following two songs, Ladoga and Kailash, were already featured on the band’s first single, and they do more or less the same as the opener, only that they take each well over eight minutes to fulfil their goal. Nice enough but not as punch-in-the-face as the opener. But from the fourth track onwards, things become more interesting again. Star Child is a four-and-a-half-minute short ballad that comes with a warm trumpet part that adds a certain jazz flair that works incredibly well with Transnadežnost's sound. Huldra is the only song with vocals, and this far into the album, this makes for some welcome variety. Not that the guys need a vocalist all the time, but the occasional lyric parts would make the music also more interesting for those not so into purely instrumental music. Chewbacca is at under three minutes the shortest piece, but still does feel like a thought through composition. The album ends with the twelve-minute monster Day/Night which is ultra-trippy and once again features a trumpet part that adds to the adventure.

Monomyth may not reinvent the heavy psyche stoner genre, but it is a competent effort of a talented band that keeps its better material for the album’s second half. It is well worth to spend your time with these four heavy rocking Russians."

our TSM press-release on Rock Arena UK (text by David Aaronson):
"The day is equal to the night. Persephone goes down to Hades, to the realm of the dead. Feathered Serpent Kukulkan silently slides down the pyramid. The night is equal to the day.

The moment of balance in motion, refraction and transition to the other side. Mother Earth & Father Sun are looking straight at each other. Autumnal equinox. Nature falls asleep in order to wake up again. And the music sounds like a hero’s journey from the Cosmos to Earth and back.

It took a long time before a team of four like-minded people with close energy came together. Their mission was to unite energy of each to the one powerful flow which would make the listeners resonate on the same frequency and make it possible for them. To discover new worlds and senses by the instrumentality of special archaic sound.

Throughout history, man invents Heroes and Gods for himself, borrowing from other cultures and eras. This doesn’t mean that these Heroes and Gods didn’t exist, it means that human nature is acting on a pattern which called human pattern.

The band doesn’t adhere to a certain genre, Monomyth could be easily made like hip-hop, techno, funk, or something else. The root cause is the inner experiences and interaction with the World. We are deeply convinced that certain feelings could be explained by this sound. One book, which explains the World by its own way, said that in the beginning was the word. As we know the word is sound vibration. I want to finish with a verse:

“Every Night and every Morn
Some to Misery are born.
Every Morn and every Night
Some are born to Sweet Delight,
Some are born to Endless Night. ”

Czech hardmusicbase.cz review by Pepa Jůza:
"10/10

No a někde tam, kde má své působiště kapela TRANSNADEŽNOSŤ právě prožívají nádherná šedesátá léta. A to tenkrát o nějaký progresivitě ty muzikanti neměli ani šajn a nic takovýho neřešili. Prostě to v nich bylo, nebo nebylo. No a v kapele TRANSNADEŽNOSŤ to krutě je. Přeci jenom se nějaká moderna ke kapele dostala a díky samplům i přístupu k psychedelii v „Day/Night“ se květinové děti rázem ocitají tam kdesi v kosmu, kde mohou zasadit nové sémě lidství, hned vedle semínek všeho k jídlu i ke kouření a vlastně o tom vypovídá i obal digipacku. No a v téhle písničce jako decentní výstřednost hostuje i trošičku najazzlá trumpeta obecná.

www.the-rocker.co.uk review by Stuart Hamilton:
"Oh, this is a good one. Monster Magnetty desert rock meets spacerock. From Russia. Do they have deserts in Russia? They must have. It’s a bloody big place. And I’m not counting steppes. They’re not deserts and I speak as someone whose DNA is 45% Caspian steppes based. So I know what I’m talking about. Oh, right. The one good thing about talking aloud in a library with free internet is that there is always a drunk / unemployed philosopy lecturer sleeping nearby. And he just shouted “Chara”.

Right, so Transnadežnost are blooming good at this. They err on the spacerock side of things which suits the boyhood Hawkwind fan in me just fine as they swoosh their way through prime tunes like ‘Ladoga’ and ‘Star Child’. Certainly when it comes to serving up a feeling of desolation and emptiness they can’t be faulted. The guitars are interesting as they often seem to be playing against the music rather than with it. But it works so fair play to them.

It’s largely instrumental which is another good thing with this style of music and they manage to keep well away from the world of prog which is actually quite tricky when you inhabit this sort of world. There’s a helluva lot of good psych / spacerock / weird shit coming out of Russia recently and this is one of the best. Don’t believe me? Take 12 minute out of your life and listen to the closing, trumpet enhanced (!) ‘Day/Night ‘ and then thank me."

metaladdicts.com review by Ivison Poleto:
"All right, let’s go to “Monomyth,” shall we? There are seven tracks in it, and they are all instrumental except for “Huldra.” Their length vary from two minutes as in “Chewbacca” – what a cool name! -, to twelve minutes in “Day-Night.” As I said, though “Monomyth” isn’t clearly a virtuosi album, there are some moments of almost virtuosi as in “Kailash” which has a great and exciting cadence with a leading guitar giving the themes as if it were a jazz rock track. It takes some musical expertise to write a track like that with so many twists in tempo and cadence what Transnadežnost’ do with perfection. This track shows why I don’t buy the labels given to them. The one who have ever met jazz rock knows that. The percussion and the oriental like guitar give the tone I’m referring to. Then we have “Star Child” with a cool jazzy saxophone and an atmospheric guitar playing. Pretty space rock, huh? As far as I’m concerned space rock bands don’t generally use saxophones. Also, the sax is playing the theme as jazz bands do. well, there are also tracks as “Huldra” that actually seems to be ethereal and atmospheric. In fact, they could be labeled as space rock, whatever the hell this means. But it also has a jazz rock verve that begins by the middle of it. That’s what I’m referring to. Nevermind.

From where I’m standing it’s great to receive bands as Transnadežnost’ which revive all the good stuff that was made in the 1970s. Good to make today’s kids to know that nothing comes out of the blue.

The band has an odd name Transnadežnost’, but it sounds so good. I gave it a quick google to find out what the name means, but instead I found that what they do is called space rock, grunge, sledge… My, my, my! What on Earth is going here, my child of the night? I could say zillion of other labels to Transnadežnost’, but the ones I wrote. My guess is that those people who label know nothing about music. Hence they haven’t heard anything of the great 1970s jazz rock players as John McLaughlin, Chick Corea, or even Jeff Beck among others. It’s not because the band plays some dubs, chords full of chorus pedals and some arpeggios, their music can be labeled as space rock. Of course, Transnadežnost’ aren’t full of virtuosi as those bands, but they are good indeed. In fact, there are some amazing passages in “Monomyth” that makes you jawbreak. So sorry for the bad mood… hahahahahaha"

Dutch lordsofmetal.nl review by Jan-Simon:
"80/100

thesoundprojector.com review & broadcast by Ed Pinsent:
"Transnadežnost’ from St Petersburg are another rock combo. Their Monomyth (728) album features the guitar work of Aleksandr Yershov joined by bass and drums, alongside second guitarist Alesya Izlesa who also plays the glockenspiel. As cover imagery suggests, they hope to whisk the listener into an exciting ultra-dimensional journey across space and time, with acid-trip elements thrown in to enhance the experience. What we get is mostly competent psychedelic rock with plenty of echo pedals to boost the thin guitar solos; not objectionable, but rarely do the band cohere enough to give their music wings. Consequently the promised mind-expanding odyssey doesn’t really get beyond the planning stage and stays sitting on the runway."

Polish nbc-zine.pl review by Defekt:
"9/10

Dutch carrysnewundergroundmusic.blogspot.com review by Carry Munter:

Italian thepitofthedamned.blogspot.com review by Francesco Scarci:
